Ayeong Kwon and Ju Yeong Yi, who have been doing their internship in the lab (since January 2021 and August 2021, respectively), will start pursuing PhD in Computational Genomics at the Kim lab in March 2022 as they officially join the MS/PhD-combined program in Kyung Hee University.
Ayeong earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kyung Hee University with the highest honor of summa cum laude, receiving the Dean’s Award from the Dean of the College of Sciences, Kyung Hee University. She also completed a secondary school teaching certificate program (in Biology). She receives a two-year scholarship for her doctoral research from Kyung Hee University that fully covers all tuition fees. Ayeong is working on an integrative analysis of genetic and transcriptomic data in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Ju Yeong received her Bachelor’s degree in Bioscience and Biotechnology from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in August 2020 and has had several opportunities to learn and experience bioinformatic research at University hospitals and the Kim lab. Ju Yeong is currently working on the landscape of blood transcriptomic dynamics associated with response to a standard treatment for systemic lupus erythematosus using longitudinal RNA-seq data for both mRNA and small RNA.
We welcome Ayeong and Ju Yeong and wish them a successful adventure and lots of fun in KimLab.
